THE BEGINNING

An Idea Born in Northern Uganda.

In 2007, while still in college, our founders set out to create long-term opportunity in a region recovering from war. They knew how to crochet, how to sell beanies, and just enough to begin.

Working alongside local organizations, they trained and employed ten women. Ten became hundreds. A second production location opened in Peru. Families became more self-reliant, children reached higher levels of education, and a much bigger idea began to take shape.

A Simple Idea Became Something Bigger.

Without knowing it, a small group of college students set out to re-write the fashion industry and pioneer a new model for socially-minded business when they traveled to Uganda to teach a group of women to crochet and start the brand Krochet Kids intl.
